Light as a feather, but tough as saddle leather. Our selected types of leather are so extremely durable that Harven Leather gives a 2-year quality guarantee on every bag. Unlike the usual leather industry, Harven avoids any splitting: by carefully inspecting the hides, our master bag makers decide which hide is most suitable for which wallet, purse, briefcase, handbag, backpack or travel bag without splitting. Even thin leather is very robust and durable if it consists of an entire layer of skin. We use the largest possible pieces of leather for our luxury leather bags, since the attachment points are always the weak points.
Responsibility for people and the environment is very important to us. The selected noble skins are tanned by experienced tanners with biodegradable treatment agents – without any environmental pollution. These hides are dyed through with water-soluble aniline dyes. It is not “embellished” with plastic top coats.
Finally, the upper side is carefully hand-tamped with wax. This gives the leather a unique look and unfolds its natural beauty. Every skin, even every part of the skin, has its own shimmer – so 100% natural leather. It is particularly supple, moisture and heat resistant. The aniline leather is of course free of chrome IV, PCP and AZO colors.
We do without any unnecessary padding: instead, the underside of the leather is finely ground in a special way, making it velvety soft and absolutely fluff-free.

Simply unique cashmere leather: light as a feather, extremely durable and robust buffalo leather is enormously popular because of its rustic look and its extremely soft and particularly silky touch. The exclusive leather is moisture and heat resistant.
Unique business bags made of feather-light but everlasting leather ! The excellent leather comes from a special breed of buffalo. Their way of life, the sparse nature and the climatic conditions influence their skins. They remain relatively thin (approx. 2 mm) – ideal for extremely high-quality business bags, shoppers and backpacks, as the skins do not have to be split.

With this special leather, a so-called vintage look is deliberately created. The precious hides are then manually padded using a special technique. Finally, the leather is impregnated with wax, allowing its natural beauty to unfold. Color differences, different vein structures, scars, insect bites, scratches, abrasion spots and bumps are typical features. Every skin, every part of the skin, has its own shine – a real one-of-a-kind.

The simply elegant, extremely light but extra durable cashmere cowhide is very popular – not only because of its exceptionally elegant look, but also because of the absolutely soft and supple touch.
Extra fine Harven cowhide comes from special cows. Barren nature, their way of life, and extreme climatic conditions affect the cattle hides; these remain relatively thin – approx. 2 mm – and therefore ideal leather for excellent work bags, briefcases, laptop bags, backpacks, shoulder bags and tote bags.

They owe the rare leather of this special breed of buffalo to their way of life and the climatic conditions. The bare buffalo skins remain relatively thin – about 2 mm thick – and therefore ideal for extremely popular antique work bags and the most beautiful backpacks.

Responsible sustainability: The upper side of the noble buffalo hides is carefully sanded. However, the natural scars remain recognizable. The leather is then manually soaked in various vegetable oils and waxes. This is how the leather unfolds its specific beauty: when rubbed or pressed together, the color changes, but returns after a while.
Harven Leather fully dyed leather remains open-pored and natural, and still resistant to moisture and heat.
Particularly solid saddle leather for the straps
Harven Leather makes its leather bags for generations. The handles, straps and straps of the bags are constantly exposed to enormous loads and permanent abrasion. Eventually every seam flows. As a precaution, the experienced Harven bag makers manufacture all handles and straps from solid single leather – without attachments or seams.
Extra strong and thick young bull hides (approx. 3 mm thick) are selected and carefully subjected to a special tanning process. This complex process takes up to 3 months. Finally, the upper side is carefully hand-tamped with wax.
The weatherproof saddle leather is a symbol of strength and robustness, which can withstand the highest loads.
